『What european language is most difficult to learn?』(ワット・ヨーロピアン・ランゲージ・イズ・モスト・ディフィカルト・トゥー・リーン？)〔意：習得難度が最も高いヨーロッパ言語とは？〕は、なにより検索エンジンとして名高いヤフーの送るサービスのひとつ―『ヤフー！知恵袋』の本家版すなわちヤフー！アンサーズ(Yahoo! Answers)に投稿された、“アイラット”(Ayrat)という名の利用者による質問である。

ハンガリー語はフィン＝ウゴル語族の一員です。フィンランド語の縁戚にあたりますが、最も近似するのはハンティ語およびマンシ語（どちらも話者は数千人程度）。実際のところ、ハンガリー語は中欧における孤立言語にあたり、周辺諸国のスラブ諸語やゲルマン諸語やロマンス諸語（どれも印欧語族）とは無関係な言語なのです。ハンガリー語の学習が英語話者にとって難関なのはこれが理由です。 〔Hungarian is a member of the Finno-Urgic family of languages. It is distantly related to Finnish, but is most closely related to Khanty and Mansi (which each have a few thousand speakers).
