Answers)に投稿された、ジョー・クール(Joe Cool)という名の利用者による質問である。

ヨーロッパ大陸のうちにあって、この地の諸国のなかでも際立つ知名度を有しながらに在り続けてきた西欧～そして南欧のうちの三カ国―ドイツ、イタリア、フランス。

まあすぐに思い浮かぶ典型的な答えといえば：イタリア人とフランス人はロマンチック、そして温和で、日々を彩る愛ってものを米国にまで運んできてくれる音楽畑のお洒落さんとかグルメさん。でもドイツ人は・・・そうなのドイツ人なの。もちろんただのイメージなんだけどさ。 〔Then I come up with a typical answer: Italians and French are romantic, warm-blooded, musical fashionistas and gourmands who brought their love of life to the US, while Germans are ... well, Germans. But that's just a stereotype, of course.〕

補記：なにを言っておられるのやら・・・ドイツ人のこと『利口』とか言ってるのってひとりしかいないじゃん。そしてフランス人のこと『臆病者』とか言ってる人なんて誰もいない。あんた耳心地のいいことしか耳に入れてないっしょ？もしくはれっきとした現実を見てもなんも変わんないくらい強い偏見で凝り固まっちゃってるとか？ 〔edit: Nice math... ドイツ人が100%魅力的だとかそんな思ってる人なんてひとりも見たことないんだけど。っていうか意味不明。要はそういうことにしたいわけね。現実の（不愉快な）ドイツ人のイメージを拭い去ろうと頑張ってるわけだ。哀れなことを。 〔In this one, I never met people who think Germans are 100% hot. And what does it mean, anyway? It's a lame attempt to cover for real (and very unpleasant) stereotypes about the Germans.〕
