Imagine! Japan sings for Turkey(イマジン! ジャパン・シングス・フォー・ターキー)〔意訳：想像せよ!トルコのために歌う日本〕
は、映像をもって世界を結ぼう―そのような趣旨を擁する祭事―『パンゲア・デイ』の一環として制作され、2008年の4月5日(日本時間)にユーチューブ(YouTube)に発表された映像である。
インドの国歌をケニヤが歌う『イマジン! ケニヤ・シングス・フォー・インディア(Imagine! Kenya sings for India)』、レバノンの国歌をオーストラリア歌う『イマジン! オーストラリア・シングス・フォー・レバノン(Imagine! Australia sings for Lebanon)』、アメリカ合衆国の国歌をフランスが歌う『イマジン! フランス・シングス・フォー・ユーエスエー(Imagine! France sings for USA)』、―これら3つの映像と同日の公開となったこの映像作品は、その題名が示す通り、トルコの国歌を『日本』が歌うというもの。
ここに言うところの『日本』とはおそらく、『日本人』および『日本的なもの』と解釈され得る。

演出
全長1分21秒。制作陣の名簿にずらりと並ぶ日本人の名前。その内容は、三味線を弾く2人の男を背後に携えた女性―不思議な装束にその身を包んだ女性が、灯火のゆらめく祭壇のような舞台の上にてトルコ共和国の国歌―『独立行進曲』―を歌い奏でるというもので、同日に公開された他の3作とは明らかに違う雰囲気―濃厚な神秘性をおびた演出となっている。
『トルコ』と『日本』
この映像の監督がこの二国を選択するに至った理由は、この二国間にある歴史的な友情を鑑みてのことであったという。歴史的な友情―それは、19世紀も半ばの頃に刻まれた『エルトゥールル号』にまつわる友愛の情のことだそうで、『このビデオについて(About This Video)』の欄にはそれについての詳説が据えられてもいる。
