は、なにより検索エンジンポータルとして有名なヤフーの提供するサービスのひとつ―『ヤフー！知恵袋』の本家版―すなわちヤフー！アンサーズ(Yahoo! Answers)に投稿された、レッドミート(REDMEAT)という利用者による質問である。
今や歴史のうちに消え失せたソビエト連邦～その配下としてあった時代のウクライナの地に生を享け、極北の大地～ロシアに育ち、やがては海を越えて日本のリングス～そしてPRIDE〔プライド〕という名の戦場を舞台にその名を掲げた格闘家―やがては『世界最高の総合格闘家』という称号を得るに至った”氷の皇帝”―エメリヤーエンコ・ヒョードル。

UFCルールならプライドと違って肘打ちがあるからたぶん彼も負けるんじゃないかな。それとマーク・ハントが脇を取ったことがなかったっけな。でも肘打ちができないもんだからそのままヒョードルにやられてしまった。 〔Maybe with UFC rules he would lose because you can elbow on the ground unlike Pride, and I seen Mark Hunt get side position but he was'nt allowed to use elbows and Fedor eventually tapped him out.〕

ヘビー級のトップ選手でこれまで彼とやってないのはジョシュ・バーネットとランディ・クートゥアだ。両方ともが彼を倒せるとは思えないが、どっちか一方はやれるんじゃないかと思う。彼がより高重量の打撃家とやるのを見たいよ。彼に敗北があるとすればそれは明らかにヘビー級最強の選手によってもたらされるものだからな。打撃で知られているわけではない藤田がヒョードルをよろめかせた。打撃家なら誰しもが挑戦できるぞ。 〔The top heavyweight fighters he has yet to face are Josh Barnett and Randy Couture. そりゃ難しいな。そもそも一撃だけでいいというならそれは誰でもやれ得るが、ただそれだけだからな。肘でいける誰か。プライドで肘打ちが許可されていたならハントは奴を倒せたかもしれない。だが現実。肘打ちは許可されていなかった。なものでヒョードルは脇の守りを気にする必要がなかった。肘打ちが許可されていたなら奴もそれと戦うことになったろうが、ただ忘れちゃならないのは、 ヒ ョ ー ド ル も肘打ちを使ったろうってことだ。もちろんだが『絶対不敗』なんてのは誰にもありえない。時には不運に見舞われることだってあるし、優れた一撃で苦境に入ることだってあるし、調子の悪い時だってある。まあそれはいいとして、理屈をもとに見るならば、今のあたりでヒョードルに勝てそうなヘビー級を俺は挙げることができないな・・・お役に立てたかな？！？！ 〔its so hard to say. firstly everyone has atleast a punchers chance, thats just how it goes. someone i think said about elbows, and if elbows were allowed in pride Hunt could have beaten him. but fact is. eldows werent allowed, so Fedor didnt have to worry about defending them while in side. Im sure if elbows were allowed he would combat that, aswell as the fact remember FEDOR would be allowed to use elbows too! so basically, nobody is "unbeatable" because sometimes your unlucky, get caught with a good shot or get a bit sloppy on the ground, but that aside. when on form, on paper, i cant see a heavyweight around at the moment that id bet on against Fedor...make any sense?!?!〕

まず最初に言わしてもらうと、誰でも奴を倒すことが で き は し た が、ヘビー級で奴の相手になれたのはほんと存在しなかったよ。UFCルールのケージで勝機が一番ありそうなのはクートゥアだと思う。他にそれができそうなのは、すっげえ高速で身体能力が高い打撃系の奴、たぶんアルロフスキーか、もしくは似たスタイルの誰かだろうな。俺はヒョードルが全階級中最高の格闘家だなんて思わない。ただ奴を倒すに充分なテクを持ってるヘビー級の奴らがあんまりいないってだけだ。 〔first off let me say that anyone COULD beat him, but there arent really any heavyweights that i would call a favorite against him. i think the guy with the best chance is couture if it were in a cage with ufc rules, other than that i would think it would have to be a very fast/athletic guy with good striking, possibly arlowski, or someone with a similar style. i dont think fedor is the best pfp fighter or anything but there just isnt that many guys at heavyweight that have enough of a skill set to beat him.〕

さてと、そろそろ質問に答えると、ヒョードルを倒せるヘビー級はジョシュ・バーネットが唯一であると思う。この二人が一戦交えたことは未だに無い（バーネットがプライドでヒョードルの兄弟を倒してはいるが）。バーネットはパンチが取れる奴であるし、関節技の技術も秀逸だ。奴は俺が見た限りでビッグ・ノグの腕ひしぎに耐え切ることのできた数少ない男だ。奴は必殺技を持ってると思う。プライドがまだ続いていたならこの二人は確実に戦うことになってたろうな。 〔Now then, to answer your question, I think Josh Barnett is the only heavyweight who can beat Fedor. They have never fought before (Barnett beat Fedor's brother in Pride). Barnett can take a punch, and has excellent submition skills. He is one of the few men I've seen who survived Big Nog's armbar.
